I belong to Esapees and Passport America.
The Passport America is very good for directing you to low cost campgrounds.
BUT
These are typically low cost facilities with less ambiance and amenities
than fancier places; and are usually "off the beaten track." Without the
Passport America Directory, you would not likely find most of them.
I find them excellent for safe, budget stops, enroute to a destination. The
intermediate, overnight stop typically does not warrant spending a lot of
money on a deluxe campsite, and I do not care for the diesel exhaust and
noise at a Flying J or similar truck stop..
Ecapees provides useful discounts (typically for short stays of a few days
max) for more upscale campgrounds than Passport America's listings.
Escapees also has BOF [Birds Of a Feather] "clubs within clubs" for special
interest RVers. I have not participated in any of these so I have no first
hand information on them. However, you can go to their website to get
information on them, and to decide if any of them are of interest to you.
Together, both clubs are worth the membership fees if you are "on the road'
for several weeks or more per year..
