I've also looked on USA Jobs for visitor assistant type jobs at parks and public fee-based lands, but I may have missed the boat this year. Not much left out there in areas I want to visit:-)
Don't forget volunteer.gov, the clearing house for all federal volunteer
positions. You have to go to each state's state park website to find
those positions.

I'm hoping to find something where I can camp and not fret about the dogs while I"m working. And the other animals, of course, but they are the only ones that need supervised potty breaks.
Well , Airstreams are expensive and who knows what percentage of total
RV's? Most full timers are in 5th wheels. Dunno if there are real
statistics about that....

I am jealous of anyone spending the winter in Big Bend, but in the summer months, not so much:-) I also notice most of the web literature is about jobs for couples, so that won't work for a solo traveler.
Nobody is here in the summer, except the people up in the Basin, or
those who have to be here. Many of the rangers are seasonal and get laid
off in the summer. Big Bend wants a 3 month commitment, not the whole year.

The couples issue is there. But, for example, I am not, and once you
have a little history of this kind of work and they can see you are
competent and reliable, very few of these jobs require two people, nor
do they require massive strength ( which retired folks don't have
anymore anyway). Sometimes they want both to work at different jobs,
and I suspect they are afraid you will be scared if you don't have
someone to play with. It all touches on the mystery of why people full
time. If you don't, and don't get it, then perhaps there is something
wrong with someone who does, especially alone.....leaving a perfectly
good house and all your stuff, and etc.

If you see a position you want, apply anyway, explaining that you can do
the work.

Don't forget to see if there are places that would be thrilled with your
raptor knowledge!!! They would probably chain the AS to a tree to keep you!

Look at Wildlife Refuges on Volunteer.gov

(Counting with you!)
