Howdy folks! Long time lurker, occasional poster.
Just a quick message to "the faithful" that I'm about to sell Maggie, my '73 Safari. For the last 18 months or so, I've been living in her while I searched for my new home, a vintage bus. A couple weeks ago, I purchased a 1947 Flxible Clipper. I'm in the process of moving into her.
So, this nomad has two homes and that's in direct violation of the Nomad's Code. Maggie has been a great home for me but, unfortunately, she's gotta go. I thought I'd let everyone here know first, in case she's of interest to you.
Here are the broad strokes:
* She's 23 feet long and is ready to camp today!
* She's polished (this is the 2nd AS I've polished - it's not a perfect job but I still got a lot of comments and thumbs-up)
* She tows very well and the body is in excellent shape (a few minor scratches here and there)
* The interior is in good shape - much of it is original. It has 3 beds - 2 singles mid-ship and a non-vintage dinette up-front that converts into a double bed (this was built by the PO)
* All major systems are there and work but me and the PO mostly used it with hookups so they need to be tested (which I'll be doing soon)
* I believe the fridge is original and it works like a charm
* No stove and kitchen sink was relocated to the aft bath (by PO)
* Air conditioner works great
* All the AS badges/livery have been cleaned up and repainted and the running lights have been replaced with vintage-appropriate LEDs
* It has 3 roof vents - 2 original and 1 Fantastic Vent installed by me
* I installed 2 belly speakers with a volume control just inside the door and two new speakers inside - she's ready to rock the campground!
Should you be looking for a plug-and-play summertime fun solution, I'll also sell you my 2005 Ford Expedition to tow her.
I don't know my asking price yet - I need to do some research. PM me if you want to know more. My plan is to post her on AirForums in the coming days.
