I'm in the middle of trying to mount the Airstream bike rack to the back of my 1999 Safari 27' and was under the impression from the store website that this model Airstream was one it would work on. However, I am stymied at the access to the back luggage compartment, and even the bumper storage door is going to be a very tight fit.
I have a friend with me today who is more knowledgable about these things, but neither of us, even after watching Tim Maxwell's video on You-Tube, can figure out how you can open that back boot door with the bike rack installed.
Has anyone tried it? Colonial Airstream also has a video up but they have it on a Bambi, and that back storage door is much smaller than what I have. Still, it looked like the door might not completely open.
Surely Airstream would not have sold this and forgotten to alert you that if you have a big back storage compartment, this would block it?
Help?
