Sam:
That's not the one. I don't mean to blow the horn of this dealer, but I
haven't looked to see if there are other dealers who have made
arrangements to carry the Amish products. Her's the website:
http://www.rvcoolingunit.net/servlet/StoreFront
Disclosure: I have no connection or affiliation of ANY kind with the
company.
I know folks who have used the Amish products and they are very
pleased. Simply rebuilding Norcold and Dometic cooling units is
fruitless. They are poorly and cheaply manufactured. All of the
recalls and RV fires caused by these refrigerators, both of them, are a
travesty. The recall "fixes" do not repair the unit. They put on a
"band aid" to try to prevent a major fire when they fail. At least
that's how I understand it. I have 2 Dometics and a Norcold subject to
recalls. I'm going to purchase the Amish new units.
By the way....Don't be fooled by those ads you've seen for the "Amish"
fireplace heaters you may have seen. NOT The wood fireplace may be
built by the Amish, I don't know. But, the electric heater inside is
built in China.
Please excuse this blatant "advertising". I'm doing it only in an
effort to help fellow RVers. I'm going to put in a plug from their
website because I know most won't bother to go there and investigate. I
think it's important enough to be informed. Here's a paragraph from the
website:
About RV Cooling Unit Warehouse LLC
I would like to take this moment to thank you for checking out RV
Cooling Unit Warehouse for a replacement cooling unit. I, David Force,
along with my family, have been in the RV Repair business for over 40 years.
One of the most common problems that RV'ers have with their repair order
needs, is "the RV refrigerator just does not keep our food good and
cold" or "my food spoils after just a few days, it just does not cool
well, what is causing the problem?" After I decided to retire from my RV
repair business, I started to look for a good, dependable replacement
cooling unit builder, so we could start a new business. This took us a
few years to locate, as the one company we found and chose, did not do
any RV cooling unit coil replacement advertising. For years they only
did it as a side business to the manufacturing of Brand-new Home
refrigerators and Home freezer business.
We used their cooling units for a few years and notice that all our
customers would come back or call me and praise the performance of the
replacement cooling unit they had purchased. I had to say, it was not my
install, but the way the Amish manufacturer changed and modified the way
the coils remove the heat. The cooling units were so dependable and
extra cold. This started me thinking, and we decided to sell and
warehouse their units, because this Amish company is the only after
market manufacturer that builds both the Brand-New coils and the Re
manufactured cooling unit coils.
Most of the competitor companies I checked with reminded me of
Politicians: They all said "/We can do that/" or "/No problem to build
complete new cooling units/", but they don't.
The Amish manufacturer is the only one that said "/We can do it/"*and
they did*...With both cooling performance and quality...It's the only
way they do business...Also all their units built do not have recalls
like all the OEM's.
Cheers!
