[A/S] Trailer Shopping Advice Please

Having all but finished refitting the Suburban I bought, I have shifted the
trailer search into second gear and after a good bit of study and some
tire kicking have settled on what I think makes the most sense for my
situation. I think either the 25' Tradewind Double or 27' Overlander
Double from say 67-72 would meet my needs, without overtaxing my
Suburban or having to be too concerned about sag/separation problems.
I would appreciate some advice on that point.

As frequently happens, if I am looking for something, I got a friend of a friend
of a ..... referral. Basically what this guy had was a 2003 fiberglass 28' trailer
with a "Super Slide". To shorten this up a bit, I looked at it, for the educational
value, if nothing else, and politely passed on the deal. However, it did get me to
thinking.

I realize this is kind of off the topic but can anyone enlighten me on slide outs?
Please consider, I am planning to set up shop in central or southern FL, where
HEAVY rains during the rainy season are a daily occurrence. I can see all sorts
of opportunities for 'problems' with a slide, water, creepy crawlers, mechanical
issues... .  Are these realistic concerns or am I maybe over analyzing this? I'm
an engineer, so over analysis is one of the things I do best (sheepish grin)
