I got advice last week from a list member on bed removal. There are cleats screwed into the floor under the 3 drawers. There are screws on the side of the bed near the top front. I don't have rot but will saturate the floor with wood hardener once it dries.
I'm going to clean the rubber seal around the compartment door and Vulkem underneath where needed.

Sorry, I meant this reply to Tim Bell.
> Can you give me some pointers on how your project is going? Maybe some photos, tips etc? Just how you removed the bed frame. How you are going to cut out the bad wood and replace it, etc. Also, besides replacing the rubber seal around the rear compartment, I am thinking about riveting an aluminum drip shield over the rear door. Any thoughts?

The carpet is stretched on tack strips along the walls which are under the cabinets. And if it's wet it really should be removed. If you can reach the carpet through the bottom of the cabinet maybe you could pull it up and cut it off around the edges?
