[A/S] Re: New Airstream Motorhome Owner

Most likely your fuel tank is fine.  Regarding filling the tank with 80 gallons.  I have a Transferflow auxiliary gas tank in my pickup bed since my V-10 engine only gets 7-8 MPG and carry a total of 85 gallons of gas.  Most gas station pumps will automaticaly slow down the pump and  cut off your charge card fill-up at $75. or $100. dollars.  You have to hang the pump up, slide the credit card again  and then start pumping again to continue the fillup. The second line of agravation is that on top of this the credit card companies limit you to charging  two self service gas fillups a day, so if you are still not filled up with the second $75. or $100. then you have to hang up the pump and start over sliding a second different credit card.  From empty it takes me 3 credit card slides to fill my 85 gallons of gas.  I actually had to have my credit union. split my credit line in half and issue a second card so I could get a complete fillup in
a single day.
Sometimes, not always, you can also go into the gas station and give your card physically to the clerk to hold and ask them to do a manual authorization to allow you to pump a complete fillup.  This works best at truckstops.
Enjoy your new motorhome!
