As long as the fan is starting up okay on high speed, simply set the thermostat mode to HIGH AC and enjoy. You will not do any harm to the unit as long as the fan starts and runs properly (ie it spins up really quickly). The most likely culprit is a failed low speed relay on the control board. The low speed relay contacts are likely burned up from all the years of operation while the high speed relay has had much less wear. If Camper Clinic can get the older design control board, that is all they will have to replace, othewise, you will need both the new design board and a new 5 button wall thermostat.
