Re: [A/S] Air Conditioner on Fritz

Hunter,
The buttons on those 4 button units were temperamental, but I have pulled several apart, cleaned the switches with success. BTW, the thermostat communicates digitally with the control board in the AC unit. There is NO way the the thermostat can be the cause of your fan not running. Again, it could the fan relay on the control board. Have you tried to set the thermostat to FAN ONLY at both low and high speeds to see if the fan will start? I would try high speed to see if that might kick it off. Even if it finally kicks off, have it oiled and checked for dirt daubers. If Camper Clinic tries to talk you into a new AC, walk away and find an HVAC guy that works on RV rigs. Your unit is almost certainly fixable for a fraction of the cost of a new unit (Dometic does sell all the parts and the motor and starter cap is available from 3rd parties).
