Unfortunately, the material that Dometic DouTherm is using for their Penguin shrouds is NOT UV tolerant. I have yet to have a Dometic shroud last more than 5 years. After looking for the "better mouse trap" I ran across a company in Canada that is using a different material and they back it with a lifetime warranty. The shroud material is more flexible than the original and fits perfectly. Only time will tell if this material actually holds up better than factory.

BTW, at the moment, they don't have a version that works with the 15K Heat Pump Penguin, only the 13.5K Penguin or 13.5K Penguin Heat Pump model. The two shrouds are dimensionally identical but the 15K Heat Pump shroud has a series of holes on the roadside to allow additional airflow to exit from the condenser. I have talked to the manufacturer and they are will to create a shroud for the 15K Penguin Heat Pump if someone will send them a factory shroud to use as a template. They only offer arctic white and black. Airstream installed Penguins came with a custom color shroud (an off white), but the arctic white looks fine on the Airstream. Cost is $100 + shipping (around $30). No cheaper than a Dometic shroud, but the lifetime warranty makes it a better bet.
