I bought a shroud from Inland RV, which I think was fiberglass. It
didn't quite fit, needing some carving, and I wasn't able to do that, so
I sold it and stuck with the old one. Since the shroud was for the
original Armstrong AC, I decided that it was likely the AC would die (it
hasn't) and then the shroud blew off in a sudden gust and cracked itself
in several places. I was afraid I would jinx the old AC if I bought a
new shroud, so I did the fiberglass thing to fix the cracks, sanded the
outside smooth and then put a thin coat of fiberglass resin over the
whole thing.
Looks great, it is now so well strengthened it will outlast me, and the
AC is still happy.
