I just purchased a 2003 25' Safari…. how do you replace the fresh water tank
drain valve (the cheap plastic one)?…. must be a clamp on the barbed fitting
inside the tank housing. That brings up another question. Is the tank
housed in a protective outer shell? Do you access the tank itself from
inside the trailer? Do I have to drop the tank from below the trailer?

Hi John,

Congratulations on your purchase! The 25 footer is the best selling size right now.

Do you really have to remove the drain valve? They are hard to replace. I just use the pump to empty the tank instead of messing with the silly little plastic valve. But if it's broken off…. I think there is a clamp on a very short hose that connects to the tank. The tank itself is plastic and it's inside a galvanized steel pan and insulated with foam. There is no way to access the tank from inside the trailer. If you absolutely have to drop the tank it is held in place by many sheet metal screws around the edges of the steel pan. The Safari maybe a little different, all my experience is with Classics.
