Hi Anne,

Please do not let anyone weld anything to the skin of your Airstream! The awning brackets are screwed or maybe riveted to the trailer usually at a rib. Try to tighten the screws and if they are stripped go to the next larger size (stainless steel) screw. Then seal around the brackets with a little urethane caulking. The aluminum skin is too thin and a weld would almost surely cause cracking.
