Subject: BEFORE CHAIN SAWS-The people that built this Country.
Date: Tue, 31 Jul 2012 19:08:27 -0400
Before Chain Saws . . . What a lesson in real history
Speaking of one-man.... two-man saws.... check this one out.....
WOW! Imagine any of this generations' young men attempting this!
(To be fair, I would have a tough time tackling this job myself)
IT DOESN'T SEEM POSSIBLE FOR THEM TO EVEN DO THIS!!
I WONDER HOW LONG IT TOOK TO GET THRU THAT TRUNK??
When the Northwest logging industry was still young...
Just look at the length of the hand saw they needed...
...and look at the size of the heavy duty axes...
The work required very strong and courageous men...
After a tree was felled the real work began - a week or more to cut it up...
Maneuvering the logs down the mountain to the train was a complex job...
Some of the logs were larger than the train engine...
A hollowed out log became the company's mobile office...
Hollowed out logs were also used to house and feed the crews.

At the RM VAC rally in Gunnison, CO, I got help with my electric problem.
However, I can't tell you exactly how we fixed it. Jim Cooper came and used
his magic, poked and probed, Pat Phippen hooked up his extra battery to
determine that the fan itself was not the problem. After all this, a fuse
was found to be blown on one of the 12 volt circuits (one of the ones on top
of the switches for city power/battery power that are impossible to inspect
without a dental mirror) There may be a ground connection that is unstable
somewhere as well but we don't know where, but the fan now works! Thanks to
all who offered suggestions and helped with my education. I understand the
12 volt circuit better now. Jim suggested that the wiring needs to be
cleaned up as previous owner left things a bit messy as he/she did mods in
that back compartment. Univolt is still working as it should so I am
keeping it for now. 4 year old battery has been kept in good shape by it and
we had enough juice to spend 4 days in the boonies with lights and fan
running so "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". The rally was fun, BTW, danced
way too much on Friday night, watched the Running of the Bulls (we helped
move the stock they use for roping at the rodeo arena). Most of the time
during the rally, there was some sort of roping going on if you wanted to
watch something other than polishing aluminum or fixing Polly's trailer.

True enough. Very good.
You're right, lousy layout.

They aren't on the same page as the others for those models. Lousy website
layout.

Hunter is correct.
The bike rack is for International, CCD, and Flying Clouds. These model
don't have the big plastic rear bumper that the Classic does.
