Hi Charlie,
I LOVE Google earth. I will look at the routing feature, although I
have so much information stored in Delorme files that I don't think I
will give that up altogether. My file on AZ has campgrounds and thrift
shops and repair places that I've used in the past. Google's street
view is the best for finding a turn off, and especially good if
negotiating a tricky area where backing up is going to be hard.
When I first looked at Google Earth, I was, I think 3 or 4 years on the
road. I zoomed in on my last place in MA and there was the Airstream !
So that particular picture, in the Boston Area, was pretty out of date.
I suspect they update it more often now, but I am still going to be
skeptical. Try zooming in on something you know well, like your house,
and see what the image shows to get an idea of how long ago the image
was taken.
