Paula,

You can get GFI protection with EITHER the GFI breaker, OR the GFI
receptacle.

With the breaker, ALL outlets (receptacles) on that circuit are protected.

With the GFI receptacle, the GFI receptacle and any DOWN STREAM receptacles
are protected - but NOT those upstream (between the standard breaker and he
GFI receptacle.
