I read earlier today that someone near Dade City is considering replacing an Airstream AC.I am thinking of trying to fix the Armstrong AC in my 27' Argosy 1979, so I can remove the AC out of a middle window..Will also be getting an estimate from a Mobile Tire replacement truck after that, (near future)to estimate replacement of tires and packing....small electric to do in a week or two..
Following is quote from a AirstreamList e mail, seen right after an e mail about non- joy of pulling airplane glued bolt every six inches to remove ceiling AC.
">>> Those old Armstrong BayBreeze AC units were wonderful. They are totally repairable by any decent HVAC person. Here is a link to the wiring diagram from a '64 unit, but it should be the same for your '69. The biggest issue with repairing these is that the drip pan on the inside of the Airstream tends to be rusted out but you can have a sheetmetal fab shop replicate if necessary."
Sorry to be so dumb but what is a HVAC ? Walt's only again?Mobile RV repair? Airport!!! Port Richey FL area Isabelle
