Probably the easiest thing is to take the capacitor to a good electric motor
shop. They likely will have one or be able to come up with something close enough
to work. If size and shape are the issue, the leads to the capacitor can be extended.
Just make sure the connections are all made and insulated properly. You mentioned 4 terminals.
Are there 2 independent terminals on each end or are the terminals connected together?
I am thinking it is a dual section capacitor, where one element is for the compressor motor and
the other is for the blower/fan motor. If that is the case, 2, separate, capacitors can be used.

A motor capacitor is a basic electronic component used on electric motors.
[Tpically to reduce current draw on starting] The size and shape need not be
the same as long as the electrical characteristics are the same (though a
slightly larger capacitance would work as well.
The two critical parameters are:
Capacitance (in micro farads) and
Voltage
These values should be stamped on the old capacitor.
You sould be able to get one at a good electrical upply house.
A dozen or so years ago, I replaced a capacitor on a 5 hp GE motor on an air
compressor. In this instance, Granger had the exact same item.
You might also try the Yellow Pages under electric motor repair, rebuilding,
rewinding - firms that work on the guts of electric motors. They could
direct you to a source for the capacitor (or even supply you with one)
Good luck.
