I have the original Reese Dual Cam on my '73, and the same truck except
it's a '97.

I have been on the road for 9 years and seen it all out here on the
roads, and my set up never sways, and it stays solid in a panic stop or
evasion .

You have a good stout truck which is the most important part, a long
wide wheel base and enough weight to control the trailer.

The hitch discussion is endless and it's a personal choice, but no
matter what hitch you have it needs to be properly set up and balanced
for the tow-trailer combination. Sadly, many trailer dealers are happy
to send you out on the roads without doing this, along with assuring you
that your present vehicle will tow just fine. No mention of stopping or
controlling.

No hitch will compensate for the wrong tow vehicle, and no hitch is a
guarantee of no trouble on the road.

Come on out here, life is great!
