Sorry for the late post on this topic.
I currently do this type of business full time, both privitely and for manufactures in Indiana. This is a hard business. The requirments that the manufactures place on you are mind bending. The DOT rules and logs alone are tough, and have to be followed to the letter. The milage rates are very low for the east coast.
But, If you like being away from home, solitude, XM radio, books on CD, and plain ole driving, then you may have a new nitch to fall into! If you do want to look into this let me know. I know of numerous companies, good and bad that deal with this.---
