No, but you have to patrol for leaks and fix them. My solar installer
used silicone to seal screw holes, grr, I should have watched him. He
did me a "favor" by siliconing the forward Fantastic vent, concealing
the failed seal. So I spent a happy hour or two removing it and
resealing it.
Airstreams are terrific, but you have to stay "on top" of leaks, and
that means crawling up there. I use a jointed ladder and a towel and
great care.
As a side note, many RV techs don't like to work on Airstreams, the
access to stuff is often harder than SOB's and Airstreams are different
in several ways. I would look for a solar installer that isn't allergic
to Airstreams, but watch them for correct caulking.
