Looking for some advice on polishing. We originally bought this 76 airstream in 2006, and we have stripped and polished it before. So now we're at it again, and a little bit stuck after compounding. We've made several passes with Nuvite F7, to remove the surface oxidation, and we have a bright and reflective surface that's full of swirls.
So now we're on to the polishing stage, with a dual head orbital cyclo polisher. But the problem is that, after a pass with the cyclo, the surface is dull and clouded. I've tried different grades of polish (F7, C, and S) after cleaning the surface with mineral spirits, but each time it goes from shiny to dull-ish and partly cloudy. I *think* I'm using small amounts of polish, and giving each section a lot of time, but it still comes out cloudy.
Anyone have experience with this? Any advice for me? Thanks!
