My hitch ball is mounted to an 18" height--everything seems to to tow well--But I did put a note on my Ready, Set, Tow List to check for Level the next time we are all packed up & hitched up.
Maybe I didn't explain my initial comment quite right. The Jockey Wheel would drag on only the beginning of our concrete driveway, not the entire 80 feet. I think this is because the slope coming up from the road is quite steep right at the beginning, but that is the way it is, and that is the way it will be. We would have to remove the JW every time we went up or down the driveway, that is why, for us, elimination was the answer. In July of 2007, a Pneumatic JW was not easily available, unless we crafted our own. But then that would be dragging on the beginning of the driveway. Thanks to all for going over the height measurements with me--I will be sure to check everything for level next time out. cindy
