The Armstrong's are serviceable. Call around the local HVAC shops to see
if there is an ole timer who is willing to make the effort.
Except for being careful removing the cover the guts are conventional AC
stuff. As opposed to undersized, barely adequate RV air conditioning units.
We were always able to find the parts locally. Just had to have an HVAC
guy willing to make the effort. In every case, including replacing the
compressor, it was cheaper than replacing the whole thing.

PS I believe you are correct about Carrier. That leaves you back to
Dometic or Coleman.
