We use a 5 gallon gray water tank - blue in color - have used for 4 years with our pop-up. Some campgrounds don't like "open" buckets being used.

I like it because it is small to pack and not too heavy for me to carry to empty; I don't use a lot of water and have never had it fill up and spill over. Unlike you, I'm new to camping, and not sure why the "shortcut" of using a small size container (that is properly closed) is bad for the environment? Do the normal grey water containers that you mention treat the water in some way, or make the water better to dispose of at the grey water dumps? I like to be very careful about my impact on the environment, which is one reason that I like the T@B so much. TT
