That's a little different. The plains get bitterly cold in the winter, and can stay that way for a considerable period. One reason I
don't spend time there (another is the summer heat).

True. That's why many people empty the hose for the duration of the freeze.

Hear, hear! Congratulations on your choice of dwelling. Now if you can just cut down on the "out of season clothes" (it helps to
follow the 50 degree isotherm by driving north or south) you won't need the extra closet....

But seriously, my sympathies to anyone whose hose freezes.
