I wouldn't either.... I think tow ratings are determined on ideal
conditions... sunny days, flat terrain, no traffic....
Throw in some excitement and I flat want more truck under me.....
I can think of three times when I've totally lost my trailer brakes and
my truck had to stop 8,000# over and over,,,,,
I've also had to handle it in many adverse conditions.
Now, if I had a little vintage Airstream, I would tow with a new half
ton truck in a NY minute.
