The directions say for the 1st stage: Constant current - the battery is charged to a max of 14.8 VDC; for the 2nd stage: constant current - it will top off the battery at 14.8 VDC utilizing the trickle charge; and for the 3rd stage: floating constant, the battery will never fall below 13.5 VDC.
