I looked at a Colorad similar to the one that you have when I was in the market for a daily driver. I wanted to incorporate the towing ability for my Airstream with adequate fuel efficiency for daily use. The numbers just didn't work out for the Colorado. Even when fully equipped with the factory recommended towing options, it came up short in ratings to even comfortably tow my 1978 Argosy Minuet 6.0 Metre at a maximum of 3,250 pounds fully loaded.

While the Colorado "could" have handled the Minuet, the Overlander was an absolute impossibility with its typical loaded weight of 6,100 pounds. The Minuet was right at the 80% of rated trailer towing capacity that for me equates to being marginal for mountainous towing or for towing where hilly terrain will be encountered.

Good luck with your investigation!

Kevin

P.S.: My final decision was to stick with my existing tow vehicles, and I purchased a Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible for my daily driver and commute vehicle.
