Dale and Joy, Welcome aboard!:-) The first time I realized this discovery was on our way to the 1st ever International rally and with our new bed mod (so we could lay the back of the couch clear down onto the seat and almost crawl back there to get whatever I wanted) I was so proud to show that new mod off at Intl. BUT! IN Cody, WY the day before we were to arrive at South Dakota, the back stuck when I went to make the bed because I had gone too fast in clicking the bed I think. It would NOT move, stuck!! and I thought oh no! my new mod and it has failed me! I am so embarrassed. What if the back won't go up or down , where will we sleep.. panic.. Gordie came to the rescue and pinched that lever and smiled and said, go slower! next time. I was sure relieved! LOVED that mod where we were always able to store things back there and it was easy to get to them! A warning though was that never put much weight on the back of the couch when it was laying on the seat! I guess I was afraid I would break something in the hinge! Good mod! TErry :)

In normal operation, if the backrest cannot be dropped to the flat position, the position detent will not reset. With bedding in the way, this can be hard or impossible. Well guess what an easy solution has always existed.

With the backrest at rest on the bedding, reach down between the cushions on each side and pull/pinch the silver detent toward the front of the trailer. You should hear it click. This resets the detent, just as it does when you lower the backrest to the flat position. Now you can adjust the tilt.
