Pierre, are you planning on some sightseeing along the way, or are you just looking for places to spend the night? It is only a little over eight hours driving time from Mobile to Charlotte, maybe a little more pulling a trailer. If you just want to get some rest before going on the next day, you might wish to try some Walmart overnighting, using the Supercenters along the way. Just as Canadian Tire allows overnighting in most locations, there are a lot of free overnight locations. WM supercenters are open 24 hours, and are usually located near restaurants.

There is a forum for this very purpose-- http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/walmartrving/ --with pdf files that show which ones are not for overnight parking (the exception to the rule), locations, recommendations, etc.

After living in our TAB for a month, we are leaving Louisiana next week to go back in Québec, Canada. I will take I-65 from Mobile and I-85 from Montgomery until I'll meet I-95 south of Richmond, VA. We have to be in Charlotte, NC next Friday or Saturday. I'm planning the trip and was wandering if you can recommend us one campground around Atlanta, near the I-85. On our way, I'm thinking to stop first at Chewacla SP, near Auburn. Any suggestion in the Atlanta area and also for Charlotte area?
