Ours doesn't have a tranny cooler. We're in the mountains of central/north AZ between 4800 and 6100 feet. We have a 3" lift and big mud tires on it, which add weight. We're usually pulling in lower elevations than that, but, pulling it home up up up. Haven't had any overheating or tranny problems, but I'd say it's probably too early to tell.
For those who tow with an FJ: Did you install a Transmission Cooler?
The Tow Pkg. does not include one, and the Toyota Salesman says it is not needed, but I am skeptical, especially about towing in California's Sierra Nevada. Thanks for your input, cindy
