Re: [tabtrailers] Protection from Electrical Surges and Faulty Power

Forum member "TabShack" did a lot of research before he selected and installed his surge protector.  He's posted about it many times.  He's also posted about how it saved his t@b from damage.  He also recommends a seller that he had great success with.

Ken & Bonnie have now sold their t@b and gotten a different one, but he still posts here frequently.  If you can't find the info on search, just email Ken, he's always happy to provide a boatload of info & help.

After I read his info, we bought a surge protector ourselves!

Hello T@B Owners!

We're interested in learning what the group is doing to protect their trailers from electrical surges and faulty shore power. I've heard these threats can cause significant damage to electrical systems and expensive repair bills. Is a surge protector considered a "must-have" item for you? They are pricey, but I'm willing to invest if necessary. Are there any alternatives to this? http://www.trci.net/products/surge-guard/hardwires-portables/30a-portable-wground-fault

What else would you consider a requirement for protecting your electrical system?

This circuit analyzer claims it also offers surge protection, but is it enough??? http://www.trci.net/products/surge-guard/circuit-analyzer

Any information on this topic would be so helpful.
