Re: [tabtrailers] Re: Cool Cat Air - heat

Wendy, the thermostat control has a position for the furnace, so I am fairly sure that it works simply from that selection along with the thermostat temp setting to operate it. I will let someone who actually has a furnace (we don't) correct me or add additional details and suggestions. The manual indicates it uses a high voltage spark to ignite it.

Thanks Jerry. Again I'm new thanks for your patience. Is the furnace self igniting? Do I need to push an igniter switch somewhere?

A heat pump is just like an ordinary air conditioner, but is reversible to transfer the heat from outside to inside in the heating mode. It needs 120VAC to work. It becomes much less effective for heating if the outside temperature is below about 50F. In fact, if you have the 120VAC (shore power), it is much easier and less expensive to heat the inside with a small portable ceramic heater, which saves wear and tear on the heat pump. The furnace is an entirely separate entity, and is located in the T@B under the streetside rear storage area. The thermostat will control either.

While here at my house I have the T@B hooked to AC and was just checking to see if everything worked. Furnace fans and Heat pump fans are working but I didn't really feel any heat. Does it take a little bit for the heat to come out the vents? Thanks for any help!
