[How Airstream could use OSB is beyond my comprehension]
A Wikipedia article mentions that it is more uniform and cheaper (here's
your answer!) but did not mention weight, which should have been a
consideration in RV use. This sentence implies that A/S decided not to use
a mold-treated type: "Some manufacturers may treat the wood chips with
various borate <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borate> compounds which are
toxic to termites <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Termite> , wood boring
beetles <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beetle> , molds
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mold> , and fungi
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fungus> , but not mammals
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammal> in applied doses." Probably cost
consideration, again.

Mike
