<snip> Do you use WiFi signal boosters? Or do you have your own WiFi "hotspots" for your Airstream? I recently tried out the "Clear" WiFi mobile hotspot, but couldn't get it to work in those outlaying areas. I have also seen other campers use external antennas and amplifiers for their Mobile WiFi's. Also note that we are Verizon customers. So, what works best for you? and, what works for you "boondockers" ??

We have had Verizon MiFi2200 c8da for six months now and absolutely love it. We need no antenna. The 'system center' is simply a 1/3" thick, 2x5". We used it going from Hillsboro, TX to the Airstream Paradise Park out in the middle of nowhere, also the Sarasota Rally, etc. I often use it as Carl drives us 'down the roads'. So far I had one place where it did not want to work due to 'roaming'.
The cost(s): $150 purchase cost for the above MiFi 2200 unit (when we got our system in Dec? there was a special going on and we did not need to pay the $150. For us, that was luck!). We have 3000 speed and went for the 3000 gb usage per month. That cost is $30/month. If we go over the 3000 usage during a month the automatic cost is $10 additional for an extra 1000 usage for the month. They always warn us when we are at 1/2 of our month's usage. We have both our laptops plus a wireless printer using this system wirelessly. Up to 5 devices can be in connection. Carl and I do not do the games but do quite a bit of surfing. I do genealogy and we have not gone over 3000 yet.
Good luck in your search.
Cindy
