Thanks Jerry, and that may have been the case but aside from the indicated tire size, just eye balling the two side by side had at least an inch difference in total hight.
Just wish i'd remembered to ensure they filled the now empty bolt holes from the hanger with something to keep the water out. Looks like I'll end up crawling around under there myself tonight..
For the time being i've opted against a tongue box, so will be looking for a bolt on tire carrier for the tongue.
