Ben,
How you fix it depends on the year of your coach. I know you mentioned
it earlier but I don't have your original post.
If the, older, outside lockset is wider than it is tall there are a
number of pieces that can be broken including the latch handle to shaft
pin, the shaft lever inside the lockset or the actuating pin on the bolt
shaft.
If the,newer, outside lockset is pretty much square it is most likely
the actuating tab inside the lockset.
Either way you will have to remove the lockset to determine the cause.
Parts for the older lockset may still be available from Airstream
through an Airstream dealer.
Parts for the newer lockset are no longer available. Airstream has
offered are replacement. In some cases a clever metal worker can repair
the lockset.
