Colin,
Was that all you meant to say?
Hunter
Yeah, I have "lots" to say about axles & their condition, but
seeing how I also sell them, I didn't want sound pushy. Bottom line is that
your whole investment & perhaps yours & the peoples lives around you on the
road, are relying on 50 year old rubber rods inside a quasi sealed tube with
potentially a bazillion miles on it. Why take the chance changing only the
brakes. The labor required to install new backing plates, flush & repack the
bearings at some shops will approach the cost of a completely new axle
assembly that was put together by people who do it all day everyday using
equipment specifically designed for that purpose. How many rubber
"anythings" do you know of that are in good shape after this length of time?
Should I say anymore?
Thanks,
Colin
