Ray's trick, or my version of it does work. I had two alligator clips
left over from another project, put them on the ends of a piece of ?14
insulated hook up? wire. I was pretty sure the antenna was good as I
once used it to get TV reception on another experiment. (Really). I
didn't solder them as I was too lazy to hunt for the soldering gun.
I'm getting a slight hiss from some of the LED arrays, and my
laptop-cell phone internet set up makes the signal cranky too.
I think getting the right match for a female plug at the end of the
Antenna wire would help, and the alligator clips I have are kind of
dinky ones.
Do you think using coax instead of just insulated copper would be better?
The original radio with 8 track player is long gone, and I removed the
original speakers.
Replacing it would obviously be a better solution, but this is more fun.
And thank you Oliver. It's nice to know someone knows what a Faraday
Cage is. Usually I get a blank look....
Daisy, roasting in NM, but Mr Armstrong keeps thundering away and cools
me faster than the neighbors' newer AC's.

Take a picture of it and measure the center pin diameter. Then go to Radio Shack and get a proper mating connector (jack) and a small alligator clip. Solder the clip to the center connector of the antenna jack. It will be a bit neater then the clip lead that Ray suggested. What happened to the original car type radio that came with your trailer? If it died it can be replaced with a more modern version from Best Buys for about $50 and up.
