I didn't buy it there, they won't give me the service records without a
subpoena.....

Bought a 2004 F250 diesel recently. One thing I would do if I was seriousy considering the vehcile was take the vin number to the Ford service desk and ask for an OASIS REPORT and a CUDL print out.
If you think they wouldn't give the report to you, give your vin number to a trusted friend and they could go to their local Ford dealer and ask for the report. That is if they haven't already flaged the vin for a pending lawsuit.
