Re: [A/S] Curtain Question

Hi Steve,
I would just go ahead and wash them. Use a regular detergent and I scoop
full of Oxyclean. I would use cold water on a gentle cycle. You can also
use clorox2 and also use a softner. I just did my curtains in all of the
above and they came out okay. I used a sizing spray and ironed them and
they look like brand new. My curtains are at least 16 years old. If it
doesn't work you have lost nothing as they were not usable like they were.
The first time I wash mine was when I purchased the trailer 4 years ago.
The owner and his wife were smokers and the trailer was absolutely full of
nicotine tar and smelled so bad you could only stand it for 20 minutes and
then had to get out. I had to wash the curtains 6 times before I could put
them to my face without smelling smoke. I just washed them again and they
now look like new because I used the sizing and an iron to press them.

Good luck and let us know how they turned out.
