Does anyone have a quick fix for a broken screen door latch on a '99 Safari? the thumb section that controls it broke off, and I have to use a screwdriver to pry it open. Not handy out here in big wind country. I've taped it open for now but the cat might figure out how to get out if I don't get a better solution.
Also the screws that hold the latches on the outdoor storage bins---what size are they? I"ve lost two so far....
Thanks!

Hi Anne,
If you have an electric drill with you (never leave home without one) you can drill a small hole in the end of the latch where the handle broke off and insert a wood screw as a temporary handle. Most Airstream dealers (and even some other RV dealers) should have a replacement latch in stock.
If you mean the screw on the inside that holds the lock in place (as well as the latch bar) I think it's a 10-32 about 3/8" long but I'd just take the lock in to the nearest hardware store and get one that was a proper fit. It seems to me that it would have had to fall inside the compartment? Maybe your trailer has different locks then mine.
Safe travels,
