Hello,
I realize you're new here but this is how this works. This is a
discussion list so if you bring up a topic like old furnaces its
perfectly okay for others to not only discuss your furnace question but
they can also discuss safety issues.
You are of course welcome to disagree but you must do it without being
disagreeable.
While you may be an expert of safety issues the other 3500 or so people
on the list probably are glad to be reminded of safety issues.....but
even if only one person is, its worth it.
As the list owner, I appreciate the people who mentioned the safety
factor and reminded others to get alarms the could save their life,
especially when using a 40 year old furnace.
There's no need to get riled and tell people to start another thread.
You don't have to heed the warnings, but I'm really glad they were
mentioned.
