Good commentary by both Gary and Oliver.
Frankly, I don't know why people think sleek modern design is not "homey". Look at my home! Not all of us like to live in a log cabin, and I certainly don't want the interior of a sleek, aluminum trailer to look like a log cabin, either.
Airstream had the right idea in the 70s - aircraft-inspired design, light-weight, durable materials. OK, maybe they went a bit too far in some areas, but they REALLY got off track in the 80s trying to make the interiors look like my grandmother's old musty living room. IT'S A TRAILER! A mobile living space that must be aerodynamic and light-weight, or it loses all it's integrity.
Different strokes... etc. Personally, I like the modern interiors WAY more than the Classic, with its ugly wood and badly designed, overwrought fixtures. Give me sleek and modern every time.
