Not sure if my picture loaded - it is that odd shape 9x4 - the actual pull handle works from the outside...(the key has long since gone). There is an added dead bolt with lock and key that has been fitted below it.

The real issue is the inside handle, this handle is 'floppy' and appears to have lost most of its 'connectictivty' to the lock - (sorry - its really hard to describe...) so when you close the door the latch don't operate fully with the result of the door latch banging into the frame...

can I add pictures somehow - ? As they say a picture is worth a thousand words...

I REALLY appreciate the feedback so far and will follow up on teh ideas...
