The lockset used on the 73 can be seen in the pictures at Vintage
Airstream's archives e.g.

Airstream used to have repair parts handmade for this one of a kind
lockset. It's unique shape, approximately 9" W x 4" H makes updating it
with a newer lockset difficult at best.

Again, I recommend you contact Airstream Tech Support for the latest word.
