Ditto for me too.
I very much dislike the bare aluminum walls. I'm used to the colored Zolatone
white warmer interior and the honey colored wood. But fabric near the bed is a
plus on the walls.
The Classics don't come small enough to get into the more remote state and
national parks, so I can't use one. Hunter's trailer size is about perfect, if
you ask me. So is my old 24.
And I absolutely hate the corner bed and the bathroom door that won't even
open all the way on some of the smaller floor plans.
I know Airstream has been making these last two design "features" for a while
now. But were I engineering manager over at Airstream, neither would have made
it off the paper and into production.
I'm an adult. I want a bathroom door that opens. And I don't want a bed that I
have to crawl over and around and into a corner blocked by a bathroom wall and
a partially functional bathroom door to make easily. And as was mentioned, I
*do* want a permanent bed that I don't have to pull out every night or
whenever I want to relax a little. The smallest Bambi has a better accessible
bed and a bathroom that opens all the way. Of course, it's a wet bath. But it
*can* be done.
Give me a real couch too. Not the vertical and uncomfortable L-Benches that
seem to be of late. I want a couch, a real couch, with the lower cushions
angled correctly and the back not straight up. Wally had that down really
well. I like the pull out tables attached to a wall or credenza near the couch
too.
Another thing, give me a double sink. The bowl-shaped single sink looks cool
but it's useless for conserving water and washing dishes in one side and
rinsing in the other. I don't like the single bowls for sinks at all.
And taking a cue from the 25th Anniversary Special, use every single little
space for storage. Waste nothing and block off nothing. A hatch here and a
little door there is the way to go.
I *really* want to get a new trailer. But I won't purchase something that
isn't floor planned to my liking. And there isn't anything I want to buy right
now.
