There is always that bucket trap design I shared with the list a while
ago. That works well and will definitely get the bugger.
As to poison, D-Con and the like takes way too long to kill the buggers.
We had similar issues with rodents getting into generators and eating
wiring and hoses and messing on everything. There are commercial baits
that you can get at a professional pest control supplies dealer that
work better. I've been using some stuff that kills on the first feeding.
The good stuff that dropped them dead on the spot I can't get any more.
But the Just One Bite stuff works a lot better than D-Con.
The trouble is unless you can get the eat and die right there kind from
a pro, they'll go off and hide and stink up the place until they
dessicate after they die. That isn't a problem with an outdoor
generator, but it is in a dwelling.
If you can get one of my bucket traps together you will trap and kill
the little bugger and not have him die somewhere in the walls and stink
you out.
